Enjoy these slices of time in this vast country. I am so grateful to share photos and insights we discovered on our many cultural tours and study in China.

I took students & other adventurers to China for 19 years starting in 1996. We studied first at the Xuan Wu TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) hospital in Beijing and then set out for new places to explore.  The pictures found in the photo gallery show the many cities and destinations we enjoyed. My all time favorite is the YIN to Beijing’s YANG, Lijiang.  Lijiang is at the base of the Himalayas and is believed to be the last Matriarchal city in the world where women do not marry and hold all economic power in their village. Kumming, the City of Everlasting Spring, was along our way to the mountains.

Some of us also went to Shanghai, The Great Wall and Anguo, the largest herb market & farm in the world. We took overnight bunk bed trains to various villages on our way to Xi’an (Home of the Terra Cotta soldiers) and then traveled another two hours to Hua Shan mountain which is one of the five sacred Taoist mountains in China. We also traveled by train to Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, along the Silk Road to see 1000’s of carved Buddhas in caves.
